I am currently serving as research director for the Input Trait Characterization group, leading multiple research teams in the characterization and development of insect control and herbicide-tolerance traits across multiple crops. In my 21-year career at Pioneer, I have spent most of my time involved with research related to insect control product development. I have tremendous enthusiasm for entomology outreach and education, especially with students. I serve as a member of the Grand View University Biology Advisory Committee, as a Science Center of Iowa “Portal to the Public” scientist, as a mentor for Iowa State University’s Science Bound Program students, as a presenter on entomology subjects to a wide variety of audiences including science fairs, and work at STEM and public school functions. Leadership experience includes five years as an agricultural biotechnology program leader for DuPont Pioneer, where I was responsible for the cross-functional oversight of several insect-control programs. I am currently serving as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board Certified Entomologists of Mid America.
