Emeritus Members

This category is open to any ESA member who is in good standing and has retired from active professional service with 15 consecutive or 20 cumulative years of membership.  Members must apply to the Governing Board for Emeritus Member status. Anyone seeking Emeritus status needs to submit an application. Benefits are the same as for regular members. Please read the information below to apply to become an Emeritus member.

Emeritus Gold members

This is a sub-category of Emeritus membership. Once a member has achieved Emeritus status and has reached 75 years of age (or more), they are automatically eligible for Emeritus Gold status. The member must contact ESA's Membership Services Department in writing at mem@entsoc.org and ask to have their membership type changed.

To apply for ESA Emeritus membership status:

  1. An applicant must notify Headquarters of his/her desire to change to Emeritus or Emeritus Gold (if 75 years of age or more).
  2. Headquarters (or its designee) makes a note of this desire and will submit this request to the ESA Governing Board (or Executive Committee) on a monthly basis.
  3. The ESA Governing Board or Executive Committee will vote on whether or not to accept this request.
  4. If accepted, Headquarters (or its designee) will contact the applicant and convey this information. From that point forward, the member is now an Emeritus member of the Society with all the rights and privileges thereof. This includes reduced dues and the opportunity to pay reduced rates at the ESA Annual Meeting.
  5. If not accepted, the member's status would remain unchanged.
