Other Scientific Societies

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
AAAS, of which ESA is an affiliate, is an international non-profit organization dedicated to advancing science around the world by serving as an educator, leader, spokesperson and professional association. ESA has representation in three AAAS sections; please click below to review the roster.

American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS)
ESA is an organizational member of AIBS, which is an umbrella organization for approximately 70 professional scientific societies and organizations. AIBS publishes BioScience and provides services, support, and a voice for a variety of biological disciplines. American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
ESA provides representation on the ANSI, Standards Developing Committee K62 (Common Names for Pest Control Chemicals). The committee was established in 1954 to develop common names for pest control chemicals having potential use in pesticides where such names appear desirable for popular designation of the chemicals. The committee also serves as the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for the International Organization for Standardization, Technical Committee 81 (Common Names for Pesticides and Other Agrochemicals), to cooperate with ISO member bodies in developing mutually acceptable common names for pesticides and other agrochemicals. Council of Scientific Society Presidents (CSSP)
CSSP, of which ESA is an official affiliate, is an organization of presidents, presidents-elect, and recent past presidents of about 60 scientific federations and societies whose combined membership numbers well over 1.4 million scientists and science educators. Affiliations

BioOne
BioOne is an online aggregation of the full-texts of high-impact research journals focused on the biological, ecological and environmental sciences, including ESA's four journals. Most of BioOne's titles are published by small societies and non-commercial publishers.

Council of Entomology Department Administrators (CEDA)
CEDA was established to promote the science of entomology in the United States and Canada. All entomology academic administrators, many of whom are ESA members, are automatically members in CEDA, which meets annually at the ESA Annual Meeting.

Plant Management Network
The Plant Management Network is a cooperative resource for the applied plant sciences which offers an extensive online searchable database comprised of thousands of web-based resource pages from the network's partner universities, companies, and associations.

Award Sponsors
Some of ESA's awards are made possible through donations from corporate award sponsors.

Entomological Foundation
The Foundation works to serve the educational enterprise by leveraging science-community resources to educate youth in applying insect science for achieving a healthy environment. Its Board of Directors includes many ESA members, and the Foundations’ members consist of the ESA Executive Committee.

Sustaining Associates
Sustaining Associates are companies which support ESA and its mission through corporate membership in the Society.
