ESA Resolutions
A resolution is a formal statement of a decision or opinion
put before or adopted by the Society. Typically, ESA's resolutions are
submitted, evaluated, and disseminated during the
ESA Annual Meeting through an
annual presidential committee, the Resolutions
Committee. However, resolutions can be submitted directly to the Governing
Board at any time.
At the annual meeting, resolutions may be submitted to any
member of the Resolutions Committee, whose names are provided during the
plenary session. After committee review, the resolutions are posted to a
“resolutions” board for the membership to read. During the closing session, the
resolutions are voted on by the members in attendance, and those resolutions receiving
a majority of favorable votes are approved.
