ESA Ethics Statement
Preamble: The purpose of the Society is to promote
the science of entomology in all of its subdisciplines for the advancement of
science and the benefit of society, to publish and encourage publications
pertaining to entomology, and to assure cooperation in all measures leading to
these ends.
In accordance with this purpose, The Society encourages its
members to:

Treat all people with civility, avoiding harassment and discrimination,

Uphold the highest standards of truthfulness and honesty in all
scientific and professional endeavors,

Evaluate the work of colleagues fairly and with open-mindedness,
D.
Recognize past and present contributors to science and not claim credit
for accomplishments of others,

Disclose potential conflicts of interest,
F.
Offer professional advice only on those subjects in which they are
qualified,
G.
Expose scientific and professional misconduct promptly, and
H.
Comply with all laws and regulations that apply to our science and
profession.
