P-IE in San Diego (December 11-15, 2010): Preparation, Updates and News

P-IE Members, Symposia, Ten Minute Paper & Poster Sessions, and Functions will be prominent in San Diego. Special P-IE Announcements and Requests for the San Diego meeting follow.

P-IE MEMBER PHOTOS NEEDED: ESA COMMITTEES, EDITORIAL BOARDS, ETC.
If you are a P-IE Member and sit on an ESA Central or P-IE Section committee or board or occupy any other P-IE endorsed position – we need your digital photo. A recognition slide show is being developed as a tribute to the many, many P-IE Members who give of their time and energy in support of ESA and/or the P-IE Section. The slide show tribute will be shown in conjunction with the ALL P-IE SECTION AFTERNOON. Send a digital shoulder or action photo with your name (as you would like it displayed) and volunteer role to mwillrichsiebert@dow.com.

P-IE STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
There are numerous opportunities for P-IE Student Members to volunteer to help P-IE Section activities and sessions run smoothly. This call for volunteers is different and not to be confused with the call for ESA Student Volunteers that went out months ago! Josh Temple, P-IE Governing Council Student Representative, has accepted the assignment of recruiting, organizing, and matching the members of the P-IE Student Volunteer Team to specific tasks. Contact Josh (jtemple@agcenter.lsu.edu) directly with questions and to volunteer for a job. A special P-IE Section token of thanks and recognition will be given to each member on Josh’s P-IE Student Volunteer Team.

A SATURDAY SYMPOSIUM!
“Looking Beyond Borders: GM Crops, Biological Control and IPM in the International Arena”

It’s not a typo! On Saturday afternoon, Dec. 11, P-IE Members of the International Branch have organized a symposium that cuts across interest areas of many of our Section members. Anyone arriving at the Town & Country between 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Saturday is encouraged to locate the Royal Palm, Salon 5-6 room for the International Branch-sponsored, “Looking Beyond Borders: GM Crops, Biological Control and IPM in the International Arena”, symposium.
