Governing Board Report, Ed Schmidtmann

Schmidtmann reported that due to belt-tightening and outsourcing, ESA has managed to break even. While journal subscriptions are maintaining expected levels, membership is dropping. Advanced meeting reservations are down. In the recently conducted membership survey, respondents expressed their satisfaction with the Governing Board and ESA management. Likewise members rated meetings and journals as satisfactory. The headquarters building is in the process of being sold, with personnel anticipated to move into leased space shortly. A presidential committee on the ESA awards system has revised procedures; the process is now standardized and online. (Conn moved to accept report; Lysyk seconded)
