1999 Annual Meeting
December 12-16, 1999
Hyatt Regency Hotel
Atlanta, Georgia
“Back to the Future on Jointed Legs”
From President Oseto’s message:
“Yogi Berra once remarked that the future isn’t what it used to
be. Perhaps Yogi was right. Our annual meeting theme, “Back to
the Future on Jointed Legs”, provides an opportunity for us to
look at the future of entomology and to see what it used to be.
In 1989 we celebrated the centennial of the Entomological
Society of America; in 1999, we celebrate a “millennium” of
achievements and the last meeting of the ESA in the 20th
century. A perusal of symposia titles, plenary presentations,
conferences, ten-minute papers, and poster presentations reveals
that organizers and presenters used the meeting theme to develop
an exciting program which looks at the past as a perspective for
new challenges in the 21st century.”
