2006 ESA Annual Meeting
December 10-13, 2006
The Indiana Convention Center
and RCA Dome
Indianapolis, Indiana
President Frank E. Gilstrap chose "Give Something Back
-- Time, Skills, Resources" as the theme for ESA’s 2006 Annual Meeting in
Indianapolis, Indiana.
The intent of the theme was to encourage members to become actively involved
in the ESA and to look for ways to increase our leadership corps. Yogi Berra
once said, “You can observe a lot just by watching.” His humor, intended or
unintended, should not describe our members. Scientists can tolerate
watching for only so long and eventually propose to make things happen. ESA
has an incredibly diverse group of members within the Society, including
many who have volunteered their time, skills and resources to make our
science known and appreciated worldwide. This was an exciting year for ESA
members, with many new, innovative changes ahead. What better way to end the
year and start anew than with a tremendous Annual Meeting?
