Each year during the ESA Annual Meeting, students are offered the opportunity to present their research and win valuable prizes. There are two components to the competition - oral presentations and posters.
When submitting posters or 10-minute papers to the scientific program of the ESA Annual Meeting, students may also enter into the Student Competition for the President's Prize, which consists of: (1) one-year free membership in ESA, a $175 cash prize, and a certificate for first-prize winners; and (2) a certificate and a $50 cash prize for second-place winners. Submission into the competition is done when a student submits his/her poster or paper into the online submission system via the above annual meeting link.
The winners are announced at the conclusion of the Linnaean games on Tuesday evening at the Annual Meeting. Prizes and completed judging forms are mailed to student competitors within a few weeks after the meeting.
