A group of second-graders convinced lawmakers to make the ladybug the official state insect of North Dakota. The students from Kenmare did their research and provided many reasons why lawmakers should support the bill, exlaining the benefits ladybugs provide, like helping farmers by eating pests. The students say North Dakota is one of only eight states without an official insect. The bill passed the Senate unanimously. It`s just waiting on the governor`s signature.
