In this video, ESA Fellow Walter Tschinkel replicates the forms of underground ant colonies by pouring molten aluminum into the tunnels, letting the metal harden, and then meticulously excavating it. The result is a perfect cast of the ant colonies, including all of their tunnels and chambers.
