Acceptable
abbreviations include:
- Abbreviate
states to two letters, for example, MD for Maryland;
- Abbreviate
months to three letters;
- Abbreviate
scientific disciplines by removing "-ology" and "-ological,"
i.e. entomology becomes entomol.;
- Abbreviate
college degrees to B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.; and
- Use
numerals for numerical references, i.e. 3 yrs.
