We are excited to host the 2018 Entomological Society of America (ESA), Entomological Society of Canada (ESC) and Entomological Society of British Columbia (ESBC) in the breathtaking city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This offers unique opportunities to share your research, gain exposure, and collaborate across border and across the Societies. Connect with over 3,000 scientists and researchers from around the globe over the four science-filled days.

Submissions for Program Symposia are now open and due Thursday, February 1. Successful program symposia submissions should relate to the meeting’s theme, include international collaborations and feature speakers from a variety of backgrounds reflecting the diversity of our members across the three societies.

This is a competitive process. We encourage organizers to be creative, inventive and thoughtful in creating session proposals that are engaging and forward-focused. Failure to provide a comprehensive proposal may result in your submission being left out of the 2018 program.

Program Symposia will be annouced by March 1.

Our Host City: Vancouver, Canada

Your gateway to adventure awaits. Known as one of Canada's most dense and ethnically-diverse cities, the west coast seaport of Vancouver is a modern, walkable and travel-friendly city surrounded by majestic mountains. The city is consistently named as one of the top five worldwide cities for livability and quality of life, and is well known for its superior accessibility after recently welcoming the world in 2010 for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Vancouver offers a plethora of culinary delights, museums and markets, along with a colorful past. You can easily walk, bike or ride around the city; be sure to stop at Stanley Park for a breathtaking view of the harbor and its constant activities. Entomology 2018 takes place in the Vancouver Convention Centre, one of the greenest structures in Canada, offering a 6-acre living grass roof and a seawater heating and cooling system. It even boasts its own European honeybee  hives, that help pollinate the plants on the living roof while supplying honey for its ‘scratch’ kitchen.

The New York Times describes Vancouver as "Manhattan with mountains. It’s a liquid city, a tomorrow city, equal parts India, China, England, France and the Pacific Northwest. It’s the cool North American sibling."
