JOB DESCRIPTION:
BASF is seeking an Entomology Project Leader to plan, implement, lead, manage and/or conduct field and greenhouse Entomology bioefficacy project(s) within BASF Agricultural Products. The Project Leader is also responsible for:
• summarizing/presenting results to, and/or, on behalf of the Agricultural Products Entomology Team.
• managing budget(s) and timeline(s) for his/her project(s).
• writing product lables for submission packages.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Required:
• BS degree in applied Entomology or other biological science with at least 6 years of field experience, MS degree in Entomology or other biological science with at least 3 years of field experience or PhD in Entomology or other biological science.
• Knowledge of crop protection research processes and techniques, agronomic and plant protection practices.
• Working knowledge of computers and software, specifically MS Office, necessary for communication, data collection / analysis, and knowledge sharing.
• Proven creative ability, effective communication and team skills, and the ability to lead others.
Desired:
• BS degree in applied Entomology with at least 12 years of field experience, MS degree in Entomology with at least 6 years of field experience or PhD in Entomology with at least 3 years of field experience.
• A thorough working knowledge of major agricultural / horticultural markets, key insect/mite pests and key insecticides/miticides used in these markets.
• Knowledge of insecticide mode of action, resistance issues, and experience in the development of assays addressing mode of action, efficacy, and resistance.
• Experience setting up field trials with applications, evaluations and data reporting.
• Prior experience with ARM software.
• Experience leading teams.
