The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources is seeking an Academic Coordinator to lead central Statewide IPM Program communications activities that are aimed primarily at developing informational products about integrated pest management for practitioners.

The IPM Communications Coordinator:

• Leads and directs the development of a vision for centralized IPM communications and products that support the vision and mission of the IPM Program.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts, production staff, and programming and technical support staff to develop and produce publications and the IPM Program's online presence as well as plans communications strategies and coordinates with other ANR units.
• Manages and oversees staff, budget, and physical resources and coordinates the development and preparation of grant proposals.
• Prepares communications that publicize IPM Program products and activities as well as communications policy and practices for the program.
• As a member of the UC IPM Leadership Team, participates in planning, discussion, and decision making related to UC IPM Program issues.
• Supports IPM leaders in achieving programmatic goals by providing expertise and planning and carrying out production projects. 
• Is visionary, who can complement ANR’s Strategic Vision, optimizing opportunities for conducting outstanding research and extension programs that meet the needs of Californians.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:   A minimum of a Master’s degree in a communications or biological science-related field is required.  Knowledge of agriculture and biological systems.  Experience planning and managing projects.  Experience supervising staff.
