My name is Tamer El-Mashtoly, an applicant from Egypt. I have got my Ph.D. through the Joint Supervision Program between Egypt and USA; I am assistant professor of Molecular Entomology, in Department of Plant Protection (Entomology and Toxicology), Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University. My major of research is molecular entomology in utilizing of some bacterial protein (toxin) in pest Management. I have acquired a solid and diversified foundation of theoretical and practical knowledge in my career that helped me a lot to develop current biopesticide formulations to be more effective in controlling Insect pests.   I strongly desire to make use of my scientific skills in Molecular Biology, to learn and apply new techniques that would strengthen my outstanding of developing scientific problems and its solutions.   It is of my concept that science is a conjugated net; each filament must lead to the other through some overlapping in between. As my major goal of my research projects that how to discover a novel safe pesticides or biopesticides and develop the current formulations to be safer for the environment, non target organisms and to be hazardless for humans, I believe that this job will help a lot to have my scientific dream true.   Moreover, I got high experience in Insect physiology (dissection and function of brush border membrane vesicles (BBMVs) and its correlation with the crystal protein binding sites, separation of the protein molecules using gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and western blotting (immunoblotting), detection of toxin binding receptors in BBMVs using ELISA.   I do have got very good experience  in Amplification of genomic DNA using PCR technique,  DNA quantification using Nanodrop spectrophotometer, Protein quantification using Nanodrop spectrophotometer and colorimetric spectroscopy and DNA sequencing. Furthermore, I have seven publications, three of them international published. Also, I have got good experience in insect toxicology through joining some toxicological projects were running in my department.   I have got a very good experience throughout my Master degree in micro analysis using different chromatographic techniques such as (TLC, GC, HPLC, and GC-MS) for determination of pesticide formulation purity and pesticide residues in different environmental samples.

Yours faithfully

Tamer Abdalla El-Mashtoly
