Agricultural engineer by the University of São Paulo ESALQ/USP (2002-2006), Master of Science (2007-2009, CNPq fellowship) and Ph.D (2009-2011, FAPESP fellowship) in Use of Nuclear Energy in Agriculture and Environment by the Centre for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture CENA/USP. Performed part of the M.Sc project in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at Seibersdorf- Austria (2008), and part of the Ph.D project in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS) and the Comisión Panamá-Estados Unidos para la Erradicación y Prevención del Gusano Barredor del Ganado (COPEG) at Panamá (2011). Speaks four languages. Has experience in food defense and the application of nuclear techniques in agriculture and livestock.
