I am an urban entomology PhD candidate, and have been developing my research in the area of biology and control of the West Indian drywood termite, at the University of Florida under the supervision of Dr. Rudolf Scheffrahn. My work has consisted in behavioral, ecological as well as chemical bioassays, for both my Master’s and my PhD research. I’ve also been working on the phylogeny of this invasive species, using genetic markers to determine its endemicity and the origin of the recently introduced Azorean population. I’m a hardworking student and I think I would be a great asset to any team working with molecular tools, behavior, and chemical assays with insects.
