I am an insect applied ecologist with over 10 years experience in designing and conducting laboratory, greenhouse and field research in various crops. I have worked closely with entomologists and agronomists and have lead or helped support the completion of assessment studies for the commercialization and new registration of a biopesticide through laboratory, greenhouse and field studies. Responsibilities included support for study related activities such as field study preparation, data entry, report preparation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
I have been responsible for assisting with the coordination of laboratory, greenhouse and field plant ecological experiments on crops. Responsibilities have included data summarization and analysis, writing scientific reports, and assisting with the scientific execution of plant ecological assessment experiments and compliance with regulatory requirements; especially with the use of non-registered biopesticides and chemical applications.
I have coordinated multiple projects and am meticulous in my work with attention given to detail. I have a thorough knowledge of crop plant growth and development, insect biology, plant biology, basic genetics, experimental design and analysis and field research experience. I have demonstrated excellent writing skills by publishing in both trade and professional technical peer-reviewed journals. I have excellent communication skills in that I can convey information to both growers and professionals, including those in academia, and I have supervised and worked with and high school students, technicians, undergraduates, graduates, and one post-doctorate entomology research associate.
