I have been interested in science since secondary school, and the opportunity to pursue a PhD would represent the culmination of my education. My research project during my MSc made me realize how much I enjoy experimental science and I have extended my experience in current position at Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI). Now I feel that I have developed the maturity and expertise to gain the most out of a PhD programme.

I am a good communicator and enjoy working with people. I have been working closely with four partners (Laboratory of Applied Entomologyand Zoology, Tokyo Universityof Agriculture and Technology,Japan, Potuakhali Science and TechnologyUniversity, Bangladesh Agricultural University and Bangladesh Agricultural ResearchInstitute)that have an international track record in developing, adopting and sustainably disseminating IPM technology to resource-poor farmers, indicating my ability to work effectively with others to bring a project to a successful conclusion. I am also involved in the dissemination of developed technologies such as biopesticides, parasitoid and natural enemiesproduction, hybrid and Bt-transformed seeds to national agricultural research institutions, NGOs, extension organisations, farmer groups, commercial companies and other stakeholders, and as a result have excellent communication skills that will be of enormous benefit when presenting research results. I enjoy working with people and explaining my science to them

I am always ready to take on new skills and keen to learn new methods and protocols to advance my scientific career. As an active scientist I appreciate the rigours and pressures of research but I have the motivation to work independently and to complete work packages to strict deadlines.

Obtaining a PhD by research is the only mechanism to allow me to obtain a permanent position in a research institute in Bangladesh. This is my main career goal. In addition the research topic that I am interest to choose is one that allow us to help alleviate environmental degradation through over-use of agrochemicals and therefore protect the environment for future generations. This is a scientific aspiration that is very much dear to my heart.

Finally, I have a long-standing interest in entomology and have dedicated my career to the study of agricultural pests and their control. My publication record (see attached) highlights my dedication and motivation to improve the production of agricultural crops in a sustainable and environmentally-friendly way. In addition, I have a broad interest in science in general and am a member of several scientific societies within Bangladesh as well as in international.

However, I need a PhD research position near future. So I am seeking  PhD research position.
