 Dear Sir

Iwould like to introduce myself as Rajashekar. Y., M.Sc. in Zoology and awarded my Ph.D. in the area of Biotechnology, in the Department of Food Protectants and Infestation Control, Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), University of Mysore, under the Guidance and Supervision of Dr. Thimmappa Shivanandappa Director grade and Head, CFTRI, Mysore India. Presentaly, Iam working as Postdoctoral Research Associate, in the department of Insect Ecology, National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Insects (ICAR), Bangalore India.

As a part of my Ph.D. work, I have isolated and identified two novel trisaccharides (Decalesides), which shows insecticidal properties. These molecules represent a new class of insecticide from based on their structure as well as their mode of action Decalesides were not toxic up to 4000mg/kg b.w. to mice. Grains treated with Decaleside were totally free from infestation even up to 2 years of storage. The insect selectivity and mammalian safety of Decalesides makes them highly suitable for promising grain protectant from natural origin. I have published nine papers in peer reviewed journals and communicated two papers which are under revision.

During the course of my research studies, I have learnt various entomological, toxicology, biotechnological, biochemical and biophysical techniques such as Natural bioactive molecules purification and characterization, Enzyme assays, Ion-exchange chromatography, Silica gel chromatography, Molecular mass determination, HPLC, FPLC, Different classes of enzyme kinetic studies, Basic cell culture techniques and working with animals,  Fluorescence spectroscopy (Intrinsic fluorescence, , Mass spectroscopy, NMR and its interpretation, Basic entomological techniques ,Maintaining Insect culture  and Bioinformatics.

As a Ph.D. graduate student, I have successfully applied my research skills in planning experiments as well as evaluating the test results, and also monitored the equipment performance and maintenance schedules. I worked closely with a team of researchers and learned the values of good laboratory practice. I wish to convey that I am a hard working fellow, interested in learning new biochemical techniques and concepts, and am able to get along cheerfully with the people as part of a team With this background, I earnestly seek an opportunity to join your group as a Research Scientist. I would consider myself very privileged if given an opportunity to avail Research Scientistin your esteemed laboratory.Herewith I am sending my CV, as an attached file for your kind considerationLooking forward for your reply in anticipation.

Thanking you,

Sincerely

Rajashekar Y.
