In lieu of a formal introduction of my research interests and aspirations, I offer a synopsis of my professional experience. Undeniably, this undertaking has affirmed my passion for entomological research and has given me confidence to assert and contest my opinions as a leader in the field of agricultural entomology, and specifically so in the field of crop pests and their management. As the Assistant Entomologist at Dudutech IPM Solutions (a division of Finlays Horticulture), a bio-control organization and a leading light in large-scale commercial crop protection in Africa, I am involved in several experiments geared at establishing the life table parameters/population ecology of cultured beneficial insects and mites. Within this context, I develop experimental protocols; coordinate preparatory activities and follow up on correct implementation of screen house and laboratory experimental trials; perform statistical analysis of research data; and undertake bibliographical search and writing of project reports and other technical reports as well as peer reviewed publications. Continuing along these avenues of research in graduate school, I would like to use my vast professional experience as a basis for a future PhD dissertation.
