Spring 2013,
To whom it may concern,
My name is Jacquelyn Marchese and I am currently completing my Master’s degree at the University of Delaware in the Department of Entomology. I have spent the last two years examining the efficiency of manufactured bumble bee units in lieu of honey bees for growers on a commercial scale and serving as the sole Entomology TA for the University. Over the last two years I have written for and have been awarded four grants that enabled the expansion of my research project.
In 2009, two years before starting my master’s degree, I began work as a private contractor to the US EPA's Office of Water. I quickly acquired managerial responsibility within my entry level position and before leaving to pursue a higher degree, I served as a Deputy Project Manager and Co-Task Lead where I had direct contact with our EPA clients.
I am currently in pursuit of a full time job in the Mid-Atlantic that utilizes my degree in and my experience as a Teaching Assitant and/or Deputy Project Manager. Although I primarily studied a very specific ecological system in graduate school, I gained invaluable experience in data analysis, leading a project, grant writing, and problem solving all while being paid to obtain a graduate degree. I am a self-starter and am an extremely hard worker; qualities that I believe should embody any successful professional.
Thank you,
Jacquelyn Marchese
