Benefits of Joining ESA!
The ESA Publications Program offer unsurpassed coverage of
the broad science of entomology. Our journals remain trend-setters in the
scientific community, each designed to meet the professional needs of the ESA
membership and to reflect emerging areas of interest and research. ESA
publishes four bimonthly scientific, peer-reviewed journals; a quarterly
magazine; monographs; handbooks; and special publications.
All paid members receive free online access to all four
journals. These subscriptions include back issues as well as current issues, so
your ESA membership is really like having your own personal online library.
Paper versions of the online journals are available to ESA for the nominal fee
of $18/subscription – a savings of $80 or more from the nonmember price. The
journals are:
Annals of
the Entomological Society of America
Environmental
Entomology
Journal of
Economic Entomology
Journal of Medical
Entomology
ESA also publishes the online annual research compendium, Arthropod
Management Tests. This searchable publication includes up-to-date
information on preliminary and routine screening tests on the management of
harmful and beneficial insects. Once again, your current membership also
entitles you to free back issues online. A CD version is available for purchase
at a nominal price.
Every month, you will receive the ESA Newsletter,
featuring feature articles, membership news, employment opportunities, grant
and award notices, legislative updates, and other timely information to keep
you informed.
American Entomologist is a glossy magazine that is
mailed each quarter. It includes articles of general scientific interest,
current trends, fun features, original research, scientific history, and
humorous columns. It mails free to all ESA members.
In addition, the Publications Program also produces the
Thomas Say Monograph series, the online Common Names of Insects and Related
Organisms database, and the Insect Handbook series.
