Overview
Membership in ESA has been an important part of the
practicing entomologist's career for over 100 years. Since our founding in
1889, we have helped to shape the world by combating pests, fostering genetic
breakthroughs, increasing crop yields, and expanding the scope of insect
knowledge in the United States and around the globe. ESA has evolved to become
the primary source of news, knowledge, and information about the entomological
sciences. We hope you will join us in our mission.
There are any number of reasons why people join ESA and
different people join for different reasons. Some join to attend the popular
Annual Meeting for a discounted rate. Some join to stay abreast of recent
developments in entomology and others will join because it is the best way to
support that science to which you have dedicated your work life. We invite you
to read some of our member
perspectives on why people have joined ESA and why they have stayed
with us.
Is ESA right for you? You can find out by reviewing the benefits that come with
your membership. We hope that you’ll agree – if you work with
insects, you can gain a lot by joining ESA and working with us.
