Invasive Arthropod Network (IAN)The Invasive Arthropods Network (hereafter IAN) will be formed to deal with the influx of exotic arthropods (mainly insects) that are arriving in the United States at an alarming rate- approximately 1 new species per month in Florida. The goal of the IAN will be to make recommendations to improve invasive arthropod management, identify better methods for preventing new invaders, identify research needs, develop rapid response plans for newly established arthropod invaders, and develop partnerships with federal, tribal, state and local governments and NGOs to help implement detection, control and educational programs about potentially new and recently established arthropods. The IAN will facilitate the development of regional or smaller working groups that more specific interests but similar goals. More Information: Click here to add a Network or change your Networks settings. If you have not yet joined ESA or are not yet established in the ESA database, you'll first need to go to the Membership page and "join" as a Web-user (which is a free transaction). |
