eXtension Fire Ant Project

The "eXtension Fire Ant Project" is a Community of Practice (CoP) composed of entomologists in states with infestations of imported fire ants (Solenopsis invicta, S. richteri and their hybrid). Biological, impact and management information for urban landscapes and cattle production systems have been posted on http://www.extension.org/fire+ants. Modules under development for posting include a youth, Master Gardening, and regulatory modules. This CoP strives to provide outreach education to clientele, called the Community of Interest (CoI) for each state through Land Grant University Extension Service agencies.

For information on joining the Network, please contact the organizers, Bastiaan M. Drees, b-drees@tamu.edu, or Kathy Flanders, flandkl@auburn.edu.
