Alumni and Friends,
Help us Celebrate the next 125 years and tour our “new” building!
Established in 1887 as part of the Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station, the Department of Entomology has been an organized unit for 125 years. Early work was concerned with “troublesome insects, especially grasshoppers.”
In 1895, Entomology and Ornithology combined as the Department of Entomology and Ornithology. The combined department was discontinued in 1906 and the Department of Entomology was reformed and has continued since then.
Since 1913, Entomology has been in the former Plant Industry Building. Renamed in 2010 as Entomology hall, we have just completed extensive, building wide renovations.
Plan to join us on Tuesday June 5, from 7-9 p.m. Transportation from the Embassy Suites to Entomology Hall will be provided.
