This video by Rob Mitchell and Matthew Richardson, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, shows that lubber grasshoppers readily consume dead insects and have even been caught feeding on roadkill. The video is spliced from selected recordings from their feeding trials, where they documented lubbers consuming almost a hundred different species of insects and other arthropods.
