Entomological Society Offers Travel Grants for 2004 International Congress of EntomologyLanham, Md., October 21, 2003 -- The Entomological Society of America is proud to offer travel grants for junior scientists to attend the XXII International Congress of Entomology (ICE) to be held August 15-21, 2004, in Brisbane, Australia. These 21 grants of up to $2,300 each are available through funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Recipients can be reimbursed for up to $2,000 in travel expenses and may also receive a $300 stipend for early registration. ICE's early registration rates expire on February 1, 2004; please see the ICE web site for details, http://www.ccm.com.au/icoe/delegate_fees/default.htm. The following criteria will be used for ESA's travel grants:
A judging panel consisting of ESA officers will rank the applicants based on the extent of personal participation in ICE, the benefit of attendance to the professional work of the applicant, the benefit to entomology, and the significance of professional contacts anticipated. All applications must be submitted by January 6, 2004, using the online application form.
