2010 AAAS Charles Valentine Riley Memorial Lecture

A new, prestigious award
recognizing international contributions to agriculture is being given next
summer by AAAS, RMF and the World Food Prize Foundation. The 2010 AAAS Charles
Valentine Riley Memorial Lecture award is intended to recognize well-respected
scientists at the forefront of a pressing issue at the nexus of agriculture and
society. The award recipient will demonstrate excellence in scientific
contributions and/or significant policy accomplishments related to agriculture
with demonstrated societal impact. She/he will receive a $5,000 honorarium, in
addition to the opportunity to address an audience of scientists and policy
makers, including members of Congress and their staffs, U.S. government agency
representatives, not-for-profit organizations, companies and corporations,
multilateral organizations, and university faculty members in Washington, DC, in
June of 2010.
The American Association for
the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the Charles Valentine Memorial Foundation (RMF),
and the World Food Prize Foundation (WFPF) invite nominations for the 2010 AAAS
CHARLES VALENTINE RILEY MEMORIAL LECTURE.
This inaugural Lecture will
promote a broader and more complete understanding of agriculture and its role in
a sustainable future.
Nominees should be
well-respected scientists at the forefront of a pressing issue at the nexus of
agriculture and society. They should have an excellence in scientific
contributions or significant policy accomplishments related to agriculture with
demonstrated societal impact.
