Student Debate at the 2010 ESA Annual Meeting
Teams are invited to participate in the Student Debates at the 58th Annual
Meeting of ESA scheduled to be held December 12-15, 2010 in San Diego, CA. Under
a broad theme, there will be three specific debatable statements. In total, we
need nine (9) student teams. The teams will be selected on a
first-come-first-serve basis. Each team will be randomly assigned to one of the
three specific topics, and will be asked to defend either the PRO or the CON
position of the statement, or present an unbiased introduction of the topic. If
you are interested in participating please contact Ashfaq Sial at
ashfaqsial@yahoo.com as soon as
possible. In order to reserve a slot for your team, send him a list of 4-6 team
members including a designated team leader (or spokesperson) and a faculty
advisor (names and email addresses). All communications between debate
organizers and the teams will go through the designated team leaders.
