Section F: Statement of Scope

With the approval of new ESA Bylaws in 2007, this Section ceased to exist at the end of that year.

Because agronomic and horticultural systems, urbanenvironments, economic circumstances, and pest diversity continue to change, management strategies are constructed from an array of tactics. These tacticsare based on input from all sub-disciplines of entomology. Section F serves toconsolidate that information. Crop and urban protection endeavors to developconventional and pioneering approaches in definition of crop and urban pestsand their interaction with hosts and environment; study and clarification ofpest biology and behavior, development and selection of suitable pestmanagement strategies or tactics, and delivery of information by means ofliterature and other communication media.

Approved by Section F and the ESA Governing Board in1997.
