Assistant/Associate Professor Entomology

Oregon State University Faculty Position Focused on Tree Fruit Entomology Research in the Mid-Columbia Region of Oregon, USA

Oregon State University is hiring a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level to carry out research and outreach on sweet cherry and pear arthropod management. This is a full time (1.0 FTE), 9-month position located at the Mid-Columbia Agricultural Research and Extension Center (MCAREC) in Hood River, Oregon, in a region known for its production of pears, cherries, apples and wine grapes. MCAREC contributes value to Oregon State University and to the local agricultural community through high quality research programs and outreach to stakeholders.

The faculty member will develop a nationally and internationally recognized research program on integrated arthropod management in sweet cherry and pear production systems. The position requires a PhD in Entomology or a related field; demonstrated communication skills; and experience carrying out research projects in entomology or a related field.

Candidates applying for this position at the associate professor rank must demonstrate evidence of experience in the areas of university-level research and scholarly work, competitively funded grant writing, and professional service at a level of performance that meet the Oregon State University (OSU) criteria for promotion to rank of associate professor.
