Entomology Postdoctoral Research Associate Braman Lab - UGA)
A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Entomology at the University of Georgia to work on ecology and conservation of pollinators. The primary goals of the research project are to investigate and document the community ecology, diversity and host plant preferences of pollinators at the forest/wildland-urban interface in the southeastern US. The postdoctoral scientist will be responsible for the design and conduct of laboratory and field research projects, data analysis, and reporting of results as peer-reviewed publications. Specifically, the scientist is expected to work directly with stakeholders and other cooperators to design and implement field- scale research experiments.
The successful applicant will hold a PhD in Entomology/Forestry/Ecology or a relevant discipline with a demonstrated ability to conduct research. A track record of publications with research findings in peer reviewed journals and conferences is expected. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will facilitate establishing effective relationships to represent and promote the research area. Opportunities to work with a diverse group of interdisciplinary, interagency collaborators will support any specific project interests of the successful applicant. We are also interested in applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas: modeling and statistics, pollinator microbiomes, community ecology, forest or urban pollinators.
It is a requirement for this role that applicants possess a current driver’s license.

Currently, funding at the NIH salary scale is available for at least two years. However, this is a term-limited position with the option to renew, depending on performance and availability of funding. The incumbent will be encouraged to participate in the development of promising projects for continued funding. This position is available immediately, however, the start date is negotiable.
