Teachers Workshop in Austin, Texas

Austin-area educators are invited to come and learn interactive approaches to teaching their students about insects!

The Austin Insect Rodeo: Teacher Workshop is from 8:45am to 12:30pm on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. Teachers will be required to stay for the entire event if they are trying to earn CEU credits.

This is a FREE event and teachers will have the opportunity to attend the IMAX Butterfly documentary for FREE and enjoy a complimentary breakfast and lunch.

The Workshop will include three modules:

- Bringing Insects into the Classroom: Interactive Lessons in Entomology

- Movement from Molecules to Migrations, A Bug's-eye View

- Bed Bugs and Book Bags: Identification and Prevention

Teachers are required to pre-register by contacting Mariel Snyder at msnyder@ipminstitute.org or 608-232-1410 with their name, school they teach at, and grade level they teach.

The deadline to register is November 1, 2013.

Space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
