Submissions are now open for Entomology 2024.

We are accepting submissions for oral 10-minute presentations, poster displays, mini workshops, and functions.


Entomology 2024 will feature only live, in-person sessions and presentations. Pre-recorded or virtual content will not be accepted.
  • Submission Deadline - 10-Minute Presentations, Poster Displays, and student submissions are due May 31. Submissions to the Early Career Professional Recognition Symposium and the Rising Stars of Entomology Award Symposium are due May 17. If you are submitting a Function/Event/Meeting, be sure to complete your submission by May 31 to avoid a late fee.
  • Abstract Notification - Presenters will be notified via email of submissions status by August 14.

Rules and Regulations

  • You do not have to be a member to submit an abstract. However, if your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenting author MUST register for Entomology 2024.
  • Presenters who fail to show up for their scheduled presentations without notifying the program planner of cancellation may not be permitted to present papers or posters at any ESA-sponsored meeting for two years following the "no-show."
  • Presenters are limited to one oral presentation and one poster display presentation. This includes contributed, student, and invited presentations part of symposia. Participants in Organized Meetings and Workshops are allowed an additional presentation. Each submitted abstract must be different. Violators will be removed from the program.
  • Invited speakers in symposia should not submit their presentation using this portal. Instead, invited speakers should provide their symposium organizer with their presentation information and the organizer will add it to the symposium on the presenter’s behalf.
  • Students may choose to participate in the student competition or in a non-competition student only session. Individuals who enter the student competition will be eligible to win prizes. All student competition submissions must be received by May 31. After that date, students cannot switch from non-competition sessions to the competition sessions.
  • Students may only enter one presentation to the student competition, regardless as to presentation type.
  • Presenters whose abstracts were accepted for presentation but subsequently withdrew their abstracts two or more times within the last five years may be excluded from the program.
