Graduate Student Assistantship in Insect Biotechnology

Description: The Teets Lab at University of Kentucky is seeking a PhD student with a focus in insect physiology and biotechnology. The successful applicant will research ecological risks associated with the release of genetically modified insects. Specifically, our lab is interested in the extent to which genotype, environmental conditions, and evolutionary forces impact the effectiveness of transgenic insects used for Sterile Insect Technique. Qualifications: Candidates should posess at least a bachelor's degree in entomology, biology, or a related field. Preference will be given to students with previous research experience, either through completion of a Master's degree or undergraduate research. Information on graduate admissions can be found at

Start Sate and Compensation: The successful applicant can start any time between January and August 2018, as mutually agreed upon. This research assistantship includes a competitive stipend, tuition waiver, and health coverage.
