Graduate Student (MS/PhD) Position at Virginia Tech - Insect Pheromone Biochemistry and Trap Crop Development

The laboratory of Dr. Dorothea Tholl (Biological Sciences/Entomology, Virginia Tech) is seeking applications for a Master’s or Ph.D. study as part of a USDA funded project on stink bug pheromone metabolism and engineering in trap crops. The study will investigate the biosynthesis and chemical ecology of terpene aggregation/sex pheromones in different stink bug pests and explore possibilities of establishing pheromone production in trap plants to develop alternative pest control strategies.
