BY PLANE
The DC metro area is served by three major airports:

Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), closest to DC, just across the Potomac River

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), about 26 miles west of DC in Dulles, Virginia

Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), just south of Baltimore
 

BY TRAIN
Union Station is the second busiest Amtrak station in the country. Besides Amtrak, the station services the Virginia Railway Express (VRE), which offers service between northern Virginia and DC (vre.org), as well as MARC (mta.maryland.gov/marc-train), which offers commuter rail service for neighboring Maryland.

DC METRORAIL (METRO)

FROM DCA: Rail service is provided to/from the DCA airport and the McPherson Square metro station for $2.15-$2.65 per trip (depending on time of day). The McPherson Square metro station is located approximately 4 blocks from the Westin Washington City Center. Walk north on 14th Street towards K Street and turn left on M Street, the hotel will be on your left. 

FROM UNION STATION: Rail service is provided to/from Union Station and the Farragut North metro station for $2.15 per trip. The Farragut North metro station is located approximately 5 blocks from the Westin Washington City Center. Walk north on 17th street towards K Street and turn right on M Street, the hotel will be on your right.
