Manager, Entomology

The entomology manager is a key people leadership role within the Global Pest Control R&D team. The core responsibility of the role is to ensures successful and timely completion of functional deliverables across the new product development and business maintenance project portfolio. Additionally, this individual is accountable for driving executional excellence in applied research & product performance evaluation, growing their team’s core technical knowledge & skills, and providing leadership in the overall operation and planning of the research facilities.

Core roles and responsibilities include:

  • People leadership for a team of entomologists, supporting a global business footprint across the full range of household pests and product systems
  • Team achievement of functional deliverables for a broad set of concurrent projects
  • Ensuring excellence in research execution & documentation
  • Managing the team responsible for insectary & rearing operations
  • Maintaining facility compliance with laboratory accreditation standards
  • People development & capability building
  • Ensuring the needs for overall operation, maintenance, and facilities planning of the research campus are met

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in entomology or closely related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in a commercial industry
  • Supervisory and performance management experience

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Advanced degree in entomology or adjacent scientific field is a preferred
  • Record of bringing new products or technologies to commercialization in a consumer goods or industrial products company
  • Successful operation within a highly regulated category
  • Past responsibility of laboratory & facility operation is a plus
  • Excellence in driving learning & people development
  • Strong skills in effective spoken & written communication
  • Ability to influence team decisions in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Working in international environments and with complex teams
  • Acumen at creating clear plans & actions in ambiguous situations
  • Demonstrated record of bringing cross disciplinary projects to successful completion
