M.S. Graduate Position at LSU
Description: The Laboratory of Urban Entomology at Louisiana State University is recruiting a master’s student to work on termite ecology. This research will involve field investigations and laboratory experiments to study the environmental factors affecting distribution and behavior of termites. The student will also engage in outreach and extension activities associated with urban pests as part of the assistantship requirement.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in biology, entomology, or related field; willingness to work outdoors.
Department: LSU campus is located in Baton Rouge on the banks of the Mississippi River. The Department of Entomology offers excellent graduate training through courses, research and extension in diverse areas. The department is co-located with the Department of Biological Sciences in the Life Sciences Building. Students also have opportunities to utilize resources within other collaborating departments and organizations.
Start Date and Compensations: The student is expected to start in summer or fall 2019. The position is fully funded with a competitive stipend, tuition waiver, and health insurance.
