Non-Tenure Track Assistant Teaching Professor
Position: Assistant Teaching Professor (NTT)
Location: Department of Entomology, School of Environmental and Biological Sciences

The Department of Entomology at Rutgers University, New Brunswick campus seeks applications for a full-time, 10-month non-tenure track (NTT) Assistant Professor appointment in Entomology with an emphasis on teaching and coordinating courses in Entomology for both entomology and non-entomology majors enrolled in the Entomology, Ecology, Plant Sciences, Biology, or Forensic Sciences Programs. This is a 1-year appointment with possibility of renewal. The teaching load is 3 courses per semester, with possible course releases allowing time for administrative duties.
The successful candidate will be required to maintain a rigorous and robust teaching program in Entomology for both entomology and non-entomology majors enrolled in the Entomology, Ecology, Plant Sciences, Biology, or Forensic Sciences Programs and utilize recognized best practices for science education, including active and experiential learning pedagogies. He or she will be required to teach Forensic Entomology (Spring), Insect Biology (Fall), Insect Morphology (Fall), World of Insects (Spring & Fall), and one additional courses in potential specialty areas and develop online educational opportunities for these courses. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to perform the duties of Entomology Undergraduate Program Director, and will have the opportunity to pursue internal or external funding, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and mentor undergraduate/graduate students in independent projects related to entomology. Participation in departmental and University committees and undergraduate and graduate curriculum development is expected.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in entomology or related area from an accredited institution. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills are desired. Experience in teaching undergraduate/graduate courses required.
