Ph.D. Assistantship in Urban Entomology
The Urban Entomology lab at Department of Entomology, Rutgers University has a Ph.D. assistantship available in the Fall 2018. The assistantship will cover stipend, tuition, and medical insurance. Current projects in the Urban Entomology lab include both lab and field studies on German cockroaches and bed bugs. Research areas include cockroach and bed bug behavior, nutrition, ecology, insecticide resistance, novel control materials and methods, and IPM. The candidate will have opportunity to interact with companies, building management staff, and residents. Requirements for the applicant include: master degree in Entomology or Biology, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good statistical knowledge. The candidate will need to visit apartment buildings to assist with the grant projects and conduct research as part of the dissertation research.
