Postdoctoral Position in Insect-Microbe Genetic Technologies
A postdoctoral position in insect biotechnology and microbiology is available in the Department of Entomology at the University of Florida Citrus Research and Education Center in the lab of Dr. Kirsten Pelz-Stelinski.
Our laboratory is focused on developing novel biotechnology for management of agricultural pests. We are seeking highly motivated candidates who have completed their Ph.D. with experience in molecular biology, synthetic biology, genomics, entomology, and microbiology. Experience with CRISPR, microinjection or bioinformatics are desirable. The successful candidate will work with our research group on development of novel genetic strategies for insect gene drive and manipulation of interactions between insects, endosymbionts, and plant pathogenic bacteria.
This full-time position can start immediately. This position is initially a two-year appointment, which may be extended. Competitive salary and health benefits included.
