Rory Mc Donnell

Incoming International Branch Secretary (2nd Term)

Rory Mc Donnell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Crop and Soil Science at Oregon State University. He received a BSc (Honors) in Environmental Science at the National University of Ireland, Galway and a PhD in Applied Ecology at the same institution. His research interests include the development and implementation of novel approaches for managing invertebrate pests in agricultural systems. These approaches include the development of biorational pesticides, identification of novel attractants, and biological control. He has published over 50 papers in leading journals in his field, and has accrued in excess of $3 million in research funding as lead PI or as a member of a consortium. He has also been invited to present his research at conferences throughout the world. Rory has been involved with the International Branch of ESA since its inception in 2009. His roles have included being a member of the Awards Committee (2009-2012), Chair of the Awards Committee (2013-2014), and Secretary on the Governing Board (2015-2017).
