ESA Supports Areawide IPM Act (November 5, 2015)
In a press release, ESA expressed support for new federal legislation for Areawide Integrated Pest Management recently introduced by Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI). The Areawide Integrated Pest Management (AIPM) Act of 2015 would prioritize and elevate critical AIPM efforts and projects within the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The AIPM Act of 2015 would establish a new areawide IPM Committee to oversee program priorities which would include members from the National Program Leader for the Invasive Pests of Crops of the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), the National Program Leader for Bio-based Pest Management at NIFA, and the USDA Senior Invasive Species Coordinator. 

ESA Position Statement on Tick-borne Diseases (July 29, 2015)
In November 2014 ESA formed a committee to write a position statement on the management of diseases caused by ticks. The position statement supports surveillance and management options.

ESA Position Statement on Pollinator Health (July 24, 2015)
In November 2014, ESA formed a writing committee for a position statement on pollinator health to identify what actions, clearly supported by scientific consensus, can be taken now to improve pollinator health in the United States.

ESA Applauds White House Pollinator Health Task Force Plan (June 19, 2015)
ESA celebrates National Pollinator Week and applauds the recent publication of the White House Pollinator Health Task Force's National Strategy to Promote the Health of Honey Bees and Other Pollinators (Strategy). The Strategy and accompanying Pollinator Research Action Plan (Plan) outlines a multi-faceted approach, along with specific timeline and metrics, to address the myriad of issues plaguing bees and other pollinator populations.

ESA Science Policy Fellow Share Their Experiences (June 10, 2015)
The inaugural class of ESA Science Policy Fellows recently returned from a trip to Washington, DC, where they met with legislators and their staff to talk about ESA and the importance of entomology. The Fellows share their experiences in the link.
