Sheraton Atlanta Downtown Statement
The Sheraton Atlanta Downtown has issued the following statement on the status of their hotel re-opening after being closed due to an outbreak of Legionnaires disease in summer 2019.
"Sheraton Atlanta Hotel has accommodated tens of thousands of overnight guests attending multiple events for both business and pleasure since being cleared for reopening on August 15th by the Fulton County Board of Health (FCBOH). In addition to all the overnights guests, 85,000 people walked through the doors of the Sheraton as the host hotel for registration for Dragon Con, August 29 – September 2nd."
In addition to the weekly testing by the Georgia Department of Public Health, the hotel has also replaced all ice machines, coffee makers, shower heads, and faucet aerators. Additional information about the Georgia Department of Public Health findings are available online.
