Technical Field Manager- California

 

Suterra is seeking a highly motivated Technical Field Manager in the Central Valley for the world’s leading biopesticide company.   If you are enthusiastic about driving agricultural innovation, building great teams, and helping growers deliver a high-quality crop while reducing or eliminating the use of traditional chemical insecticides – this is the role for you.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Field Manager oversees all aspects of field technical support in the areas of field trials (both Development and Commercialization), sales demonstration trials, complaint review and assessment, product development opportunities, and support to sales-based grower service activities. This role acts as a senior technical authority on protocols and process for field trials, data trends and product concern resolution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical problem solving to growers and partners
  • Leads projects and initiatives aimed at bringing new products or platforms to market
  • Proposes new product opportunities/investments to the leadership team
  • Oversight of trial protocols and processes
  • Trial management and oversight of Suterra products
  • Training on product deployment and product effectiveness and success
  • Training on deployment and in-season effectiveness of Suterra product
  • Building appropriate business cases for new product opportunities
  • Ideating on modification/improvement to existing products
  • Evaluation of new pest/market opportunities
  • Continuous improvement of Field process
  • Personnel management, mentoring and coaching of team members
  • Budget management in designated territory

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Minimal

  • Trial design and protocol development experience
  • Trial management of an agricultural product
  • Experience in Agro-science
  • Project Management Experience
  • Budget Management Experience
  • Ample experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy
  • Seeks out and finds solutions to drive continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working in remote locations alone or without cell service
  • Comfortable working outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather

Desirable

  • Knowledge of entomology, biology, chemistry or related field
  • Knowledge or Agriculture regulatory environments
  • Knowledge of field trial protocol development
  • PCA license
  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural science, entomology or similar field
